Allen Perlstein is chair of the firm’s real estate and corporate practices and has experience as both a corporate and real estate attorney. For most of that time, he has represented financial institutions in commercial lending transactions, as well as in workout and restructuring matters and has advised developers, investors and lenders in complex corporate and real estate acquisitions and dispositions, financings, joint ventures and related matters. His strong sense of leverage in business situations helps him to anticipate the nuances of turns of a wide variety of corporate and real estate matters. His strong negotiating skills allow him to find common ground in negotiations and achieve a desirable outcome as swiftly as possible.
Mr. Perlstein has represented commercial lenders in secured and unsecured financings, including syndicated transactions, construction lending, IDA financings, leasehold mortgage lending, asset based lending and in workouts and restructurings arising from such loans. His practice is bolstered by his knowledge of the Uniform Commercial Code and frequently draws upon his background in complex litigation. In recent years, his practice has expanded to represent wholesale grocers, supermarket operators and lenders to the supermarket industry.
